The school has moved to its prestigious site at Passeig number 9, known as Can Fages, in La Garriga. The first day of the second term, Thursday 8th January was the day the school opened in its new building.
The four story "modernist" building was built in the early 20th century and has over 1000 square metres of floor space. In addition there is a large, hundred year old garden of 1000 square metres.
The original architect of Can Fages was Manel Joaquim Raspall i Mallol (1877-1937) who was responsible for many of the now famous ‘modernista’ buildings of La Garriga built in the same period.
In the school year 2009/10 ISCAT will admit children aged 3 to 10 years and will add an additional class each year so that in the school year 2011/12 ISCAT will offer a full infant and primary education. The school is already working on a new site to develop its secondary education by 2012/2013.
We continue to work hard to convert the La Garriga site into one of excellence, suited to our International Educational Program, with classrooms, offices and activity spaces in the ‘modernista’ building for the more than 60 children enrolled for this school year. In La Garriga, the school will offer personalised education to the nine grades of infant and Primary classes. Our highly motivated team of teachers and the administration are delighted with our new site.
