Job Opportunities

ISCAT is a British School in Barcelona following the National Curriculum of England and Wales. A philosophy encompassing a holistic approach to children's learning, experience or knowledge of the National Curriculum, and ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Catalan are considered advantages.

ISCAT opened its doors for the first time in 2007, with a mission to offer both local and international families a values-based and dynamic education for their children. Keeping the school small – with just one-form entry, and a maximum of 18 students in each class is important to us in shaping our own particular culture of learning and community spirit. Emotional Education and Forest School pedagogy are central to our philosophy, and we are currently in the process of becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, with the Human Rights Declaration underpinning much of our programme of learning.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years teaching experience, and be current with the use of technology in the classroom. Experience with children learning English in the mainstream is sought, as English is not the first language of all students

The school is located 30 minutes from Barcelona centre, in the pleasant spa town of la Garriga. It is equidistant (40 minutes) from Barcelona and Girona airports, both of which offer multiple low-cost opportunities to a range of destinations. ISCAT is just 30 minutes away from the beaches of the Costa Brava and one and a half hours from the Pyrenees, and its dozens of quality skiing opportunities.

A Levels (Key Stage 5) Co-ordinator ISCAT seeks a highly motivated candidate with experience in A Level management and teaching in the UK or other international schools.
