Our Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh participants have now successfully completed their Practice Journey in the area of Cingles de Berti, Valles Oriental. Following some intensive training days, the teams have developed their skills in orienteering, compass use, cooking on a camp stove, tent building and they have learnt, through experience, that they are physically and mentally stronger than they realised!
The Adventurous Journey builds upon teamworking skills and it is a requirement that each participant chooses an aim to focus on during their final assessed journey which will see them trekking in Montseny for 2 days and 1 night. Students used the practice journey to try their aims which vary from fauna and flora recognition to stargazing and team motivation.
The group now have two weeks to reflect on their experience and make adjustments to prepare for the assessed journey.
Good Luck Year 10!
