Sara Fernández
OFFICE MANAGER
Sara Fernández is the Office Manager and Admissions Secretary at The International School of Catalunya (ISCAT), where she has been a valued member of the team for over 15 years. She holds a diploma in Business Management from Pompeu Fabra University.
Sara oversees the day-to-day administration of the school office, coordinating closely with all departments to ensure the smooth running of school operations. Her responsibilities include admissions, official communications with families, organising educational trips and school events, and supporting the leadership team in a wide range of administrative and organisational matters. She is committed to providing an efficient, welcoming and supportive experience for students, families and staff.
Outside of school, Sara enjoys hiking, discovering new places, spending time with her family and making the most of the natural surroundings of La Garriga. She is passionate about the local community and believes that the unique environment and opportunities offered by La Garriga and the surrounding area enrich the educational experience of ISCAT students, complementing the school’s international curriculum.

Tanya Canet Fontacaba
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Tanya Canet Fontacaba is an ISCAT alumna who has been part of the school community since she was very young. She belongs to ISCAT’s very first graduating cohort and holds the distinction of being the first student ever enrolled at the school, in the 2007–2008 academic year.
In September 2024, Tanya began her professional journey at ISCAT as a school bus monitor. She later joined the Administration Team, working alongside Sara and Pippa in the school office, where she provides administrative support and assists families, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
In addition, Tanya supervises both the Early Morning Club and the afternoon After-School Care programme, supporting our youngest pupils before and after the school day.
A former ISCAT student now caring for today’s pupils, Tanya truly embodies the school’s values of Respect, Kindness, Responsibility, Unity and Uniqueness.
Outside of school, Tanya enjoys outdoor sports, spending time with family and friends, and has a great love for animals. She has volunteered caring for dogs and cats, a cause she is passionate about.

Maria Noviembre
BUSINESS MANAGER
Maria Noviembre is the Accounts and Business Manager at The International School of Catalunya (ISCAT). Working remotely, she is responsible for the school’s financial administration, overseeing accounts, budgeting, invoicing and the day-to-day financial processes that support the smooth running of the school. She works closely with the leadership team, providing efficient financial management and administrative support to ensure that school operations continue to run effectively.
Although Maria initially qualified in Veterinary Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Biomedicine at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, she discovered her true professional calling in finance. She subsequently specialised in Accounting, Taxation and Financial Analysis at the CEF in Barcelona, combining her analytical skills with a passion for organisation and business management.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys horse riding, particularly dressage, as well as travelling, reading and spending time outdoors. She has a lifelong passion for horses and spent three months volunteering at an equine rescue centre in Morocco, helping to care for rescued horses.

Vanessa Garrido
HOUSEKEEPER AND KITCHEN MANAGER
Vanessa Garrido is the Housekeeper and Kitchen Manager at ISCAT. She helps keep the school clean, organised, and welcoming, supporting the day-to-day running of the school. Her main responsibility is overseeing the lunch service, where she serves meals to students and keeps the lunchroom tidy and well-organised, helping to create a pleasant environment for everyone.
Vanessa is the proud mother of a young son and enjoys spending time with her family. In her spare time, she loves hiking, keeping active through sports – particularly spinning and going to the cinema.
A keen traveller with a passion for discovering new cultures, Vanessa has spent many summers volunteering in native villages across Asia. Her friendly nature and willingness to help wherever needed make her a valued member of the ISCAT community.

Africa Nuri
SCHOOL COOK
Africa is the School Cook at ISCAT. Working alongside Saned, the company that manages our school kitchen, Africa helps provide our students with healthy, balanced and delicious meals every day.
Africa is a talented cook who brings warmth and care to the school community. She takes great pride in creating meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable, making lunchtime a positive part of every school day.
Outside of school, Africa enjoys photography, music (she plays a little guitar), and discovering different cultures. She loves learning and growing through new experiences. Her personal philosophy as a school cook is simple: “I cook for my school children just as I have always cooked for my own daughter.” Her kindness, dedication and passion for caring for others through food make her a much-loved member of the ISCAT community.
