ISCAT Art Alevel students experimented last week with the process of creating a plaster cast.
Using clay as a base they pressed textured materials in to the surface to reveal the surface quality of the forms. Students then poured plaster into the frame. Once dried the clay was removed to reveal the beautiful textures and details of their items! This was then highlighted by using the technique of dry brushing. Layers of paint are brushed across the plaster.
This will contribute towards the introduction to their Alevel portfolio which aims to introduce the students to new techniques and processes.
They did a really good job!
