Year 11 are putting theory into practice as GCSEs approach! Following the IGCSE specification, they extracted DNA from banana using a mortar & pestle.
Filtration removed the plant solids, and pure ethanol revealed the DNA — white, stringy strands visible in solution. A hands-on way to explore cell structure, separation techniques, and essential practical lab skills. 🔬
