Read Write Inc. Phonics teaches children to read accurately and fluently with good comprehension. The readers help build children’s confidence by targeting and focusing on speed sounds that the children have been learning.
Today the children were reading the book “Looking after a Hamster” and they read about how hamsters love to play and how you can make toys for hamsters. So began the five minute challenge where children had to design a hamster toy. They then explained their creations to the rest of their classmates. An explosion of language, creativity and collaboration, creating a love for reading and a bit of fun along the way!
