On Wednesday 24th February, Year 4 had a guided tour of the La Garriga town hall.
Students discovered the different departments that exist within the “Ajuntament” such as the citizen’s information desk, the treasury, the mayor’s office, the different municipal organisations etc, and the functions that each of these hold. They experienced the day-to-day life within the “Ajuntament” and the roles which the mayoress, the deputies and the other civil servants play.
At the end of the visit, they interviewd personally the current mayoress of La Garriga, Dolors Castellà, in the official conference room. Our students were able to ask her some questions regarding her role and function within the organisation.
The objective of the visit was to make the students aware of the role which the town hall plays in the life of the village – any village – how it functions internally and how it serves the citizens of the town.
It was a really exciting trip!
