📚✨ Our Year 6 students recently visited the Year 3 & 4 classroom for a lovely shared reading session. This cross-year activity not only fosters a love of reading, but also builds confidence, communication skills, and a sense of community across the school.
Peer reading is a powerful pedagogical approach. Older pupils reinforce their own literacy skills while modelling fluent reading, expression, and comprehension strategies. Meanwhile, younger learners benefit from the one-to-one attention, exposure to rich language, and increased motivation.
A brilliant example of collaborative learning in action – and such a joy to see the smiles all round! 😊📖
